La Esquina Mexican Grill & Cantina

Arrived for an early dinner so there was no one else so we choose a good table near the windows for a view. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Menu had many of our favorite dishes so was hopeful we would have a good meal. Very impressive full bar and beer selection. As our food arrived people started to arrive and it filled quickly. We were so impressed with the quality of the food. Everything was very good. Our waitress was busy but always checked back to make sure we didn't need anything. She was great. This was our first visit and for sure will not be the last. Can't wait to return and try more dishes. Great meal for a very good price.

Coming from a picky eater, the food was AMAZING! The rice, steak, everything. The salsa. The tortillas were made in house and delicious! The staff was super friendly! Our server went above and beyond for us. The bathrooms were super clean and smelled good. I recommend this place very highly!

My wife and I ventured out last week at in our quest to find the best Mexican food in greater Wilmington. La Esquina translates to "the corner" in English. Thus it was not surprising to find this establishment near the busy corner of Castle Hayne Road and Kerr Ave., opening about 5 month ago. The dining rooms were clean and bright with a nice size bar to compliment the overall layout. My Chicken Fajita (see pic) was cooked to perfection and served in a sizzling plate, accompanied by the standard rice, beans and salad with guacamole. My wife had the Burrito La Esquina that was over the top excellent. Both had portions that required a take home box. The entire staff was experienced in team servicing and were very attentive to our needs. Bottom line....if your looking for some tasty

Finding good Mexican food while traveling is often difficult. I'm so very happy that we came across La Esquina in our Google search for best Mexican near us. In my opinion this restaurant deserves 5 stars. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and well portioned. The atmosphere was authentic while clean and modern. We even went to a store to buy plastic containers to take our food on our flight home because we couldn't let it go to waste. So good! Hope our travels bring us back to Wilmington and La Esquina in the future!

This place is it!!! The best Mexican food in town! We moved 4 months ago from San Diego, CA to Wilmington and we've been on a search for good Mexican for a while. Well, the search has now stopped, La Esquina is the best, wonderful atmosphere, great service, and most of all, fabulous real Mexican food! 🌮
