Kuro Nami Japanese Kitchen

Everything is really great! The highlights are the ones with “Kuro Nami” in their names. Also, the cocktails are really tasty. The ambience is nice and modern. The servers are very attentive and quick. We got full pretty quickly, so we didn’t get dessert, but next time, we will!

We thought our last visit was the best dining experience of our lives, but somehow this one was even better. The sushi is beyond compare — each piece is a work of art, both in taste and presentation. A friend recommended this place, and we’re glad we checked it out. We had a great meal, but I must say the sushi was the best part. It was so fresh and flavorful that it was hard to stop eating. Lol However, if I had to rate this place as a 5-star restaurant, I’m not entirely sure. The food is tasty, but the service is a bit slower at the time we were there and the staff kept forgetting things we asked.

Overall C: Akira roll, Hamachi, Gyoza, seaweed salad, 'mocktails' that are really glorified juice drinks; seated immediately on a warm fall evening. Appreciate the care and technique that goes into the dishes, but pretty sure we didn't get what we ordered as the rolls did not include tempura. Environment clean, staff pleasant but service slow, perhaps as we were the furthest seated table around the outdoor patio, ontop of a busy waling path. Among the lowest rated of Marin sushi restaurants we've tried, so prolly not returning as even farther out Fairfax is better.

Overall: Fine. Atmosphere is great. A cute outdoor seating with great warm lighting and romantic dim-lit interior. Servers were great! On top on everything, checking in with us, very kind, and professional. Food was moderate. The sushi lacked flavor and that “wow” factor - we had the Sake Citrus role (lacked that citrus tang) and Soft Shell Crab Roll (Great crunch, but lacked flavor). The soy sauce was mediocre. Overall, the fish was fresh and melted in your mouth, but the dishes lacked flavor. Highlight of the meal was the atmosphere and service.
