Customer Reviews
The food was absolutely sublime. Every bite was full of flavor. 10/10 on every dish. If I lived in New Orleans I would eat here everyday. Service was so friendly and accommodating. Very welcoming atmosphere.
We are locals but have never been here. Family came in from out of town, so we decided to try it. The service was top notch! Our waitress was friendly and great at making sure we had what we needed. The food was visually appealing and tasted good. My husband got the pasta which he really liked. The only downside is it was quite noisy, as we went during the weekday at lunch time. Tables are a bit close together.
We stopped by here since it was in the neighborhood of our Airbnb and had good reviews. We were walk-ins on a Saturday during lunchtime and only had a 20-minute wait to be seated. We were placed at a 2-seat low top right near the bathroom entrance. Our appetizer was six charbroiled oysters, small but perfectly cooked. My son and I both enjoyed the seafood entrees: Delta Queen pasta and Shrimp Bucktown Alfredo. Both were delicious and plentiful, but did not come with any sides, such as a salad. The atmosphere is odd since it is a bar/restaurant based in an old neighborhood. Silverware wrapped in paper napkins and plastic cups for soda. TVs, a disco ball, and linoleum floors give the sports bar vibe. Service was okay, but our male server seemed distracted and wanted to be somewhere else.
Visited during carnival so the place was packed even more than usual. Food was outstanding and despite the crowds, the service was very good. I had a dish off the daily special board, so it’s not available daily, but definitely would recommend the trout filet on a bed of jambalaya covered with a cream-based seafood sauce.
Katie's was a great recommendation. It was the first spot we went to eat and we did not regret it. The gumbo, after eating several, is still a crowd favorite. And the Cuban sandwich was absolutely delicious. The shrimp with the fried tomato was great, too. We waited about 20 minutes but there are plenty of seats outside to wait. 10/10 would recommend.
