I’d been wanting to try the Broken Oar Oyster Bar for a while, and it ended up being the biggest surprise of our trip! Beyond the fresh oysters, the entrées were absolutely incredible. The highlight was a rich, flavorful lobster broth with perfectly cooked seafood—one of the most delicious dishes I’ve ever had. Such a treat to find this level of food in Homer. Warm service, great atmosphere, and food that truly exceeded expectations. Can’t wait to come back!
We started with the peel & eat shrimp as an appetizer and it was nothing short of absolutely delicious. The shrimp is from prince William sound and some of the tastiest shrimp I’ve ever had. The Creole was also sooo tasty and came with shrimp scallops and clams, along with a scoop or rice and 2 slices of toast. The main star of the show was the oysters! We got half raw half baked and it was soooo yummy. We also enjoyed the crème brulee as a desert. We finished absolutely everything. I’d recommend this place a thousand times over to everyone. Did I mention how amazing the staff is? We’ll definitely be back :)
Perfect for a quick, casual bite or a romantic dinner. Everything I've eaten has been complex, flavorful, and delicious. The fresh oysters are perfect every time! Update - Came back because I couldn't stop thinking about the crab cakes, baked oysters, and raw oysters. Perfect spot to grab a beer, a snack a,nd sit in the sun!
Absolutely amazing seafood and beer with a great view of the water. The baked oysters are a must and the Creole is delicious. The pan roast is good too but a bit too citrusy for my taste. It did get really crowded by the time we left around dinner time so be sure to come early.
Wow, this place is amazing. I love a little spot that has a few items on their menu that they do really well. We went here 3 times on our 6 day trip. We enjoyed their raw oysters, shrimp and grits, baked oysters, and roast lobster broth dish. All were perfection. After we were finishing up a boat taxi, we mentioned to the captain that we were going there, and he said as a local it's the best spot on Homer. 10/10
