For some reason Google Maps will not let me update my previous review, so I’m writing this new one. Joe’s is still a great place (I was first there over three years ago), good food, friendly service and lots of yummy treats. Today’s delicious chicken gumbo came with a muffin (pumpkin, I believe). Both were amazing, as was the apple pie with their rustic crust. I took home one of their fresh-made oatmeal cookies, and it was chewy and delightful. I’m always happy when I have been to Joe’s, go there and you will be too!
I got a smoked chicken wrap. Some of the chicken had skin on it, which was very tough. At first I thought I was eating bits of wax paper. The wrap was pretty dry as well, I didn't finish it. We got a cherry pie for dessert and it was actually pretty good. Based on my experience, I could recommend the desserts but not the actual food. The girl that took our order did not ask if we wanted sides or anything and we didn't necessarily know that those were options as we had not been before. We later heard another employee offering sides/drinks, etc.
Cozy locally owned deli with a fantastic selection of home style sandwiches! Homemade pies and cakes that are absolutely delicious! Very friendly staff as well. My first time visiting I had the turkey club and took a coconut cream pie to go.
I cannot say enough good things about Joe’s! True, I’ve only had one sandwich there, two different times, and only a handful of the baked goods, but they’ve all been excellent. His quality is very consistent, I first had the braunschweiger sandwich probably 8 years ago, and it was as perfect as I remembered. Some people fear this “sausage“ because they’ve only had it from grocery stores where it is thick and gooey and gross, but this braunshweiger is none of that, and is really everything you would want it to be. The rye bread was hand sliced thick, there was Swiss cheese and stone ground mustard, red onions, and…..it was just fantastic. Today I also got a mini pumpkin cheesecake, mini gooey butter cake and little peach pie. All of them were outstanding, even more than I can describe.
The best sandwiches and desserts I’ve ever had at the best prices! Employees were so helpful, friendly, and efficient. Just the perfect deli and bakery!
