Joe Bean's Express Espresso

Joe Beans Coffee is a favorite of mine, but I’m forced to give it only three stars due to a single issue: their coffee cups smell terrible. I can’t quite put my finger on the smell, but it’s like a combination of grease dust and something old and stale. The coffee itself is great, but the smell of the cups ruins the experience. I hope they can find a solution to this problem.

My favorite barista no longer works here and after doing some digging I found out they just fired her while she was off but without actually telling her. The staff that are currently there are super unprofessional. Really disappointed in this establishment. I would’ve put 0 stars if I could.

Since we have no Starbucks or coffee cafe's in town, I decided to give Joe Beans a try. I chose the Caramel Apple latte with low foam and whip. Sadly, there was almost no flavor to the coffee at all! I will probably give them one more try before I decide to veto them. The lady at the window was super nice and provided excellent customer service. Hopefully they were just having an "off" day, or maybe the barista was new??? They do offer a wide range of flavors, and some yummy looking pastries as well. I truly hope my next cup will have some flavor to it, as I love specialty coffee's.

Hometown treasure!!!! I love my Joe Beans! Even when I lived away, I made sure to get it every chance I could on my visits home. If you live in the Lynchburg/Altavista area, seriously, break up with Starbucks. Support local and get better coffee from friendly, hometown baristas.
