I went here with a friend on Tuesday evening, and it was really nice. There are plenty of options on the menu that work for a variety of diets; I've only had their breakfast food, which they serve all day, and everything I've had so far was great. I bought the Hobo Jack, with comes with a lot of food at a price under $15, which is very great value, especially nowadays. There weren't many others there at the time, and the service was very good; there weren't any times where I noticed the wait for the food, and we were able to be seated immediately. The only downside to the visit was that someone was talking on their phone for a while, but I do not consider that to be a fault of the employees or the restaurant. Stopped in for an early-morning breakfast during a long road trip. For folks who know and love a classic small town Americana diner, this place is it. No fuss or frills, just good home cooking, big portions, fair prices, and endless coffee refills. I knew I was in a good place when I walked in and saw the local old timers camped out in the red vinyl leather booths discussing politics over mugs of coffee. I ordered two eggs over easy with bacon, home fries, and rye toast for $8 (not including coffee). Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly; it really scratched that itch of nostalgic childhood breakfasts. This was our first time eating here. We were in town for business and there was nothing else open. I read the reviews, so we decided to eat here. We won't be returning. Most diners give you tea, coffee & refills with your breakfast. We were charged separately for our 2 hot teas, which was $6.00. Refills were just hot water and the same bag. The second cup of tea was weak because we had to reuse the bag. If you're giving free refills on coffee, why can't you give me another tea bag? You're charging $3.00 for a cup of tea. We ordered sausage with our omelettes and received one sausage each, which they cut into 4 strips to make it look like more. We were charged $5.50 for two sausages. That's $2.25 per sausage. Enjoyed a wonderful Sunday breakfast at J&G's Diner. I found this place from a quick Google search and I am so happy that I did. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, the bacon was crispy and cooked perfectly, home fries were a nice surprise, the coffee was a pleasant addition to my soul breakfast. I will return and bring others along but maybe not I loved this quiet hidden gem. See you soon 😊
