Very basic room, but clean and functional.

Great old school Maine porch house with very welcoming hosts. Thank you Mari and Ulysses! My room was super clean, a/c worked well, and bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good pressure, especially for a historical home. The porch is wicked awesome. I could have spent the entire time there. Very reasonable prices for the area and within walking distance to beautiful beaches! Am definitely going back.

Upon arriving at the Hidaway, we were greeted by wonderful hosts working non stop on tidying up the place. They were kind, polite, friendly. Once we had finished feeding our 18 month old twins, the owner passed by and was disrespectful to us as guests (knowing we were guests) and started yelling at the hosts non stop. He was hovering them and was extremely agressive towards them, knowing that we were able to listen to his rant. He was very upset and even went on calling me and my family trailor trash (!!!). This place feels like visiting a friend’s house, except the friends are constantly cleaning. Such a quintessential Maine Inn that I half expected Bob Newhart to show up. Might be the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. Super laidback vibe however, and one is likely to fall asleep on one of the porch chairs/couches.

Went on a one night getaway. Success. We got away. Staff was pleasant. Accommodations were sub pare including uncommunicated cash only requirement, window a/c unit side panels that wouldn't close leaving a 3" gaping hole causing to be room exposed to elements, all lamps and a/c unplugged causing us to pull furniture around to plug everything in, no window shades, no bath soap or wash clothes, dirty cups offered for coffee, and insect in mini refrigerator in breakfast.
