Blue Shutters Inn and Studios

We had an amazing stay at Blue Shutters Inn! It was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast, and we absolutely loved it. The inn was so quaint, cozy, and charming — it truly felt like staying at a family member’s home. The decor was beautiful and coastal, and every morning’s breakfast was fresh, gourmet, and delicious. Our room was beautifully decorated, cozy, and had all the amenities we could have needed. The whole experience was peaceful, quiet, and full of character — such a nice change from the typical bustling hotel. We had a wonderful sisters’ weekend here and would love to return. There’s so much charm and nostalgia in a place like this — it really made our stay special!

From arrival to departure we felt welcome and taken care of. Each staff member including the new owners were kind and helpful. Our studio room was perfect. We arrived to fresh flowers and cookies. The room was spotless and comfortable. We loved the little path to Marginal Way right out our door, and the short easy walk into town. Ogunquit can be hard to get around by car due to traffic but this little gem is perfectly situated so that you never need to get in the car. They serve breakfast in the Inn building next to the studios and it was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the fire pit to end our evenings. We will definitely be back.

Blue Shutters Inn was fantastic. We stayed in a Studio room which was clean, spacious and has a full kitchenette. Susan and the entire staff were awesome. Location is perfect for Marginal Way, downtown and the beaches. The happy hour was very nice, and the breakfast is out of this world. We’ve already recommended the Blue Shutters to several friends and family members. Would definitely stay there again.

A boutique motel with a comfortable bed in an old building. The street is very quiet, though you can hear the rumblings of guests in other rooms and the machinations of the building. I think the shower was installed when my parents were children. Not typically a place I'd feel compelled to review, but the people were so lovely that I had to. Special shoutout to Susan: They had a vacancy but the room hadn't been cleaned. She turned it over on the spot (as the only person working when I came by), and gave it to me for a very fair price. The owner and the manager served breakfast, and they were both sweet as well. (It's a real homemade breakfast too!) It keeps getting better! I first stayed here decades ago, and I have stayed several times since. The Blue Shutters Inn has always had remarkable charm, great accommodations, and very good breakfasts, but the notable change are the new owners. As a business owner, I know an experience begins with the people at the helm, and Annie and Gerard have brought a new passion and heart to the Inn. Their commitment to their guests’ experience was clear in so many ways, including their desire to accommodate my dietary needs during breakfasts, but moreover, through their kindness and enthusiasm when engaging with guests.
