I got a great rate ($100/night with breakfast), and at that price the stay was fine—but I wouldn’t pay more. Check‑in was self‑service with an envelope at the desk. Our room’s toilet wasn’t draining, and although staff said they could fix it during breakfast, we ended up plunging it ourselves with a plunger that they left for us (and then didn't pick up afterwards). Not ideal. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but several features didn’t work: the fireplace, the heat‑pump remote, and the “open” closet with cheap MDF shelving. Temperature control was tough. Breakfast was forgettable and the coffee weak both days. We also tried the $85 prix fixe dinner; the food was okay but not worth the price. What a great birthday dinner I had here last night! We had our choice of dining rooms and chose a cozy, beautifully decorated one with seating at a bay window.||The menu was short and offered very tempting choices. We started our meal sharing a half order of ribs (4 meaty ones with the meat literally falling off the bone). We asked for advice for our main course choices. The sommelier was not available but the welcoming and knowledgeable manager, Megan Kelly, greeted us and gave us thoughtful suggestions which worked very well with our choices.||We three each chose a different main course and each was exceptional - a risotto with optional grilled shrimp, duck breast with middle Eastern seasoning and sauces, and a filet mignon with two different sauces on the side. This Inn is a great place to stay and dine at in Camden. It is centrally located and we really enjoy the ambiance of the rooms. Dining at the Hartstone is a treat in itself. We recently took advantage of a one night stay and a 4 course dinner with each course paired with an appropriate wine. Our host Steve could not have been any better. His selected wines were spot on and really enhanced our dining pleasure. Chef Tom prepared us a wonderful meal which went way above our expectations. Our stay and dining here were perfect and we look forward to our next visit.

We had our 10th anniversary dinner at Hartstone last night. It was such a WONDERFULLY UNEXPECTED EXPERIENCE! Service:5 They took our coats at the door and asked us where we wanted to sit. We sat at a quiet little table, fireplace side, all alone in one of the little dining rooms and it felt like they were there just for us. We didn't feel rushed into our next courses and the flow was great. Food: 5 This was hands down the freshest ingredients making the Tastiest AND most beautiful food (usually NOT both) that we've had in Maine since moving here a few years ago. That's honestly saying something. Kinda mad that we slept on this place.. Chef Tom came out and talked to us after our meal and that really felt special to see who had made such amazing food. Immaculate, cozy room within walking distance of Camden, a picturesque village on the coast of Maine. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner! The chef is creative and service was friendly and efficient. The best lobster I’ve ever had and dessert was so good, we ordered another one! Extensive wine list. The perfect ending to an amazing trip.
