Hampton Bays Public Library

The hampton bays library is the perfect place to meet with the community, read books, rent DVDs, and visit the teen department (with a library card) to play some games like smash bros, Mario kart, gang beasts, and more. With very friendly staff, programs, a teen department hampton bays public library is an amazing library!

My family and I have been patrons of the HB library for 13 years. The Children’s Room is like our second home and the staff in there are like family to us. The librarians are so friendly and really care about the kids. When a new book comes in that they think my daughter might like, they make sure to tell her right away. When I suggested a program to meet my family’s unique needs, they didn’t hesitate to make it happen. I have watched the collection of children’s books evolve over the years into the most beautiful display of diverse and inclusive books. I am incredibly grateful for all of the amazing librarians who go out of their way to make my kiddos feel special and welcomed every time we go to the library.

Staff and very kind and the library has an enormous selection of books and DVDs. They also have fun games and toys you can check out which is awesome! I also love the bookstore that’s open on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, great prices!

The children's room at the Hampton Bays Public Library is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. With a lovely caring staff who welcome our special needs daughter every week, who make it a safe learning environment for her to thrive in.

This is the second summer in a row where I had a horrible experience with the entitled staff at this library. Will never return here. Woman at the children’s desk inserted herself into my conversation I was having with my 3 year old son as we were leaving. She felt the need say something irrelevant and honestly bizarre that I would never say to another person or their child. My son cried for about 15 minutes following this interaction. She is the old lady with the white hair. Stay away from her at all costs. Goodbye hamptons bays library and I hope you find better people who care about the children in this community.
