Customer Reviews
Food was fine: caesar salad lacked acidity, potato buns were overcooked, carpaccio wasn’t doing the seafood any favors. Extremely overpriced. Wine list was meh. The service was what made me give such a poor review. The waitress barely checked on our table. We were interested in the crab roll; she said it was 10”; it was maybe 5” (a wild difference for $44). When we addressed this with her she shrugged it off. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Lots of other restaurants within a block radius.
Stopped by for a quick bite during their Oyster Happy Hour, and it was fantastic! The oysters were incredibly fresh and paired perfectly with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. My husband and I ended up having a dozen each because they were so good. We also tried the roasted oysters, which had a nice kick of spice and a lovely crunch. Despite the place being quite busy, the staff remained patient and provided excellent service. Overall, a great spot for Happy Hour!
Half Shell is a gem tucked along the edges of Pike Place Market, and it makes a strong case for becoming a regular stop—especially during happy oyster hour. The oysters were expertly shucked, fresh, and properly presented, exactly what you hope for at a seafood-focused spot. What surprised us most, though, were the other menu highlights. Alongside the expected seafood offerings sits a genuinely impressive burger with hand-cut fries that more than holds its own. It’s the kind of unexpected standout that makes the meal feel even more memorable. Service was excellent from start to finish—warm, attentive, and welcoming without ever hovering. The cocktail program also deserves a nod, offering creative spins on classics and martinis that feel thoughtful without being fussy. Half Shell deliver
Absolute love this place! The happy hour is a great value. The oysters were amazing and so was the service and the views! The drinks were great too! Our server Brett was knowledgeable and very proactive! Definitely check it out!
Food was great (especially the baked oysters) but our server Morgan was even better! Really personable and attentive to our table. Would recommend for sure especially for their happy hour!
