Clean room comfortable bed near volcano national Park. Beautiful setting with a walk through the rainforest. Breakfast was great each day. Can’t find a better place near a volcano. National Park. Eight minute drive to the park entrance. Nearby General store and restaurants in Volcano Villagewould highly recommend and would stay again.
The owners have thought of everything- delicious in room breakfast, heated mattress, spa inspired shower, fleece blankets on the patio… the grounds are beautiful and my husband and I felt as if we were the only people there. If you are looking for a beach resort- this is not it. If you are looking for a romantic, adults only retreat, this is truly special. One of my favorite stays EVER and certainly my favorite on The Big Island. I loved every minute!
This is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. The grounds are gorgeous. The sheets, the softest ever. Breakfast was perfect and ready prepared in our kitchen nook. All the information we needed was well organized and easy to use. It was very clean and the attention to detail and sustainability was appreciated. We loved it!
Originally when planning our first trip to Big Island, my husband and I planned to set up a home base in Kailua-Kona and drive around everywhere. I'm sooo glad we changed our minds and decided to split our time on the island, which included a stay at Hale 'Ohu B&B. Location: The location is 10/10! Big Island is very much "drive everywhere" type of place, but even so Hale 'Ohu was incredibly convenient. It's only a few min drive from Volcanoes National Park (a def highlight of our trip!) and it's also close to some stores and restaurants. While things in the area close early, we loved that the park is open 24/7. We took full advantage of this by visiting multiple times per day, with breaks in-between as needed. The sunset views and nighttime glow were superb! Common areas: The garden and
We found the property grounds to be lovely and the room to be comfortable, which we truly appreciated. However, my husband and I were disappointed by the hospitality we experienced during our stay. We traveled during the slower season and happened to be the only guests on the property at the time.||||Despite making a few efforts to engage with the owner, we were met with an unfriendly attitude and, at times, responses that felt outright rude and condescending. It gave us the impression that our presence was unwelcome, as though we were an inconvenience rather than guests.||||As someone who works in the hospitality industry, the most important thing I look for when traveling is warmth and friendliness. I can easily overlook small issues when a host is kind and welcoming, but unfortunately,
