⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Griddle & Grits in Port Royal, SC is an absolute gem for breakfast! The pancakes are fluffy and delicious, the grits are top-notch, and the eggs are cooked perfectly every time. You can tell they take pride in doing the basics really well. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Add in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, and it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend if you’re in the Port Royal area and craving a great breakfast! 🥞🍳

I went in on Sept 2nd for brunch with my service K9. No issues. It's in an old 1 room schoolhouse. Very quaint. We were seated immediately. Our servers name was Anysa, she was friendly and attentive. She took care of all questions and needs. She was very good. The restaurant wasn't very busy. There were a few people inside. I got a coffee to drink the Country fried steak breakfast special, with eggs scrambled and a side order of biscuits and gravy. I'm from Maryland so grits are something we don't do in the North. So I actually tried them. They weren't bad. Food was good, but a tad expensive I thought. When visiting I always try and support small local businesses. Eat local!

Came in for brunch on a Monday afternoon and were one of only two tables dining. We ordered a kids’ burger meal, a kids’ grilled cheese meal, and avocado toast. While the food looked appealing, it unfortunately lacked flavor. The avocado toast tasted unpleasant and the avocado seemed off. The kids’ burger was undercooked. When I showed it to the waitress, she insisted it was cooked through and only slightly pink. I opened it further to show that the meat was clearly raw. She eventually took it back to have it remade, but after waiting for some time, we decided to leave and get a burger elsewhere. Overall, the experience was disappointing and not what we expected.

Cigarettes and moldy bread, these are the two issues that set me off today. I can tolerate long wait and slow service. One server on after the other was cut because of a slow first half of service. No worries, sometimes you roll the dice and it doesn’t land in your favor, I felt for our server, that’s a rough day! What I can’t and won’t tolerate, is the complete lack of care and disregard in quality of food. When we got there they were just receiving food delivery. At some point after being sat and waiting for our coffee we watched one of the kitchen staff break down boxes and check in the order with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth, right next to the patio where people are actively sitting and eating food. Love the atmosphere but gosh turn on the ac. If I wanted to sweat I’d sit outside. We got there at a good time and didn’t have to wait for a table but that didnt stop us from having to wait 30 plus minutes for food. Food wasn’t bad but I can season food better at home for a fraction of the price and I am far from a good cook. We had great service from everyone but our server which I thought was odd. She came around a few times but it was another girl that checked on us more frequently and filled our drinks. Overall this place was just meh (fish camp has a better tasting brunch down the street on a Sunday). Nothing stands out and that makes this a place I don’t need to come back to which sucks because these are the kinds of places I prefer to support.
