Gideon Ridge Inn

During our winter vacation, my husband and I dined at The Restaurant at Gideon Ridge in Blowing Rock, and the experience was impeccable. The atmosphere is refined and serene, with beautiful mountain views. The cuisine stood out for its quality, thoughtful presentation, and excellent execution. The service was professional, attentive, and efficient. A distinguished dining experience that truly elevated our time in the area.

Such a wonderful weekend getaway with my wife for our annual planning retreat at our favorite North Carolina Bed and Breakfast located in the perfect mountain town of Blowing Rock. Gideon Ridge is filled with multiple indoor and outdoor nooks and crannies for quiet conversation. Each room is unique and special, ideal for rest and relaxation (and I might add, minimal noise and privacy, which is not always true with a B&B). And where do I even begin to share with you the level of service we received over our weekend stay. Mindy was an exceptional host. The restaurant wait staff had the just right balance of in depth knowledge of each offering on the menu and first class service. Our Friday evening meal was so wonderful that we cancelled our Saturday plans in Blowing Rock for dinner and

My husband and I visited Gideon Ridge for our 30th wedding anniversary at the recommendation of a few friends. We stayed on the grounds in Cedar Cottage. A bottle of champagne, note of congrats, and stocked fridge met us on arrival. Temps were fabulous - low 60s, and we walked hte grounds together. After the porch provided the perfect place to watch the sunset with our complimentary cocktails. We enjoyed dinner at their sister restaurant, Bistro Roca. Both of our dishes were outstanding (the seafood mac and cheese!!). As we left the wind had picked up significantly, and by the next morrning, temps had dropped and a light dusting of snow covered the ground. A yummy breakfast the next morning set us up for a great day. The cottage had all types of cozy to keep us warm on a below freezing day

We married at Gideon Ridge Inn in December 2019 and always celebrate our anniversary (and Gena’s birthday) there. Combined with other visits, we have now stayed in every room at least once as of this most recent trip. |The staff and management always make us feel at home. We are very active, but we always make a point to spend at least one day of our visit simply relaxing and enjoying the property and its magnificent views.

My husband and I have stayed at Gideon Ridge twice now, and think it is marvelous. The mountain views from this ridge are superb, and the rooms are uniquely furnished -- each different, and some have private outdoor space. The breakfasts and suppers are delicious, and cookies arrive with the daily weather report! If you like exploring, there's even a cave at the bottom of stairs on the property.
