Gaetano's Tavern On Main

I went to dinner last night with a few friends at Gaetanos. I ordered shrimp scampi served on rice. It wasn't on the menu, but they said they could make it for me. It came with a very small salad. No side dishes. Just a bowl of rice with about 5 medium shrimp. I was shocked when I receive my bill and they had charged me $31.99 for this meal. It was priced higher than almost any dish on the menu and there was nothing to it. I have no problem paying whatever the cost for a good meal But this was a ridiciuos price for what I was served. I have been to this restaurant before and been happy with the food. No this time. Not at all. The service was good as was the atmosphere. But I will think twice before going there again.

This is our go to place! Can't beat this cozy place in the center of Wallingford! I personally had the tequila chicken three times and it's so very good and consistent. French onion soup is great! Chefs and all the employees there are fantastic! They have live music at times! Our duo (Dave & Renee) plays there on Friday Jan 30th 2026 at 7pm. Wonderful spot with delicious cuisine and amazing staff! Our waitress Jill was the best - knowledgeable of the menu and very attentive. The drinks were incredible - especially the espresso martini! It was an amazing, memorable Valentines Day experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Celebrated a birthday lunch and wasn’t disappointed. Food was tasty and well cooked. drinks were amazing and the service was great! Sicilian Calamari, Buffalo chicken wrap, a bison burger with eggplant fries and a Cajun chicken flatbread sandwich. Can’t forget the drinks! Antique cash register which is pretty cool!

Ordered lunch via door dash, nachos were HUGE and very tasty. I'm not sure if it was an off day or that it was a door dash order but the french onion soup was not very flavorful. It could have used some wine, sherry or worcheshire to give it more of that bold rich flavor. Solid 4, will go again!.
