Customer Reviews
I had an excellent experience at Fritai. The food was outstanding—rich flavors, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. The griot was tender and crispy, the rice and sides were on point, and the sauces tied everything together beautifully. Portions were generous and presentation was great. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was friendly and attentive. This place does a great job showcasing authentic Haitian cuisine in a modern, elevated way. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in New Orleans. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience real Haitian food done right.
Last night in NOLA, we’d seen this place get great reviews and happy to report they are WELL deserved!! One of my favorite meals of our whole week-long trip. I got the oxtail plate (only available on Mondays, so highly recommend coming on Monday if you can) and my wife got the griyo. It was all delicious!!! Everyone who worked here was so sweet and the location was just great. Definitely add this to your NOLA itinerary!! Thank you to the staff!!
This was the first time we experienced authentic Haitian food and it was an experience to remember! The shrimp creole was a delight, and the crab mac was so delectable you have to stop yourself from licking the bowl. I really enjoyed trying fried plantains (both sweet and regular). The vibe in here is intimate and cozy. Super friendly service that will make you want to keep coming back for more!
Not sure why this place doesn’t have 5 stars. The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The service was great and the art work on the walls made for a beautiful atmosphere! We ordered the Kabrit (goat dish) and the poul kreyol (chicken) and they were both amazing! The sweet plantains were fresh and cooked to perfection. The creole sauce was a great addition. And the pikliz had just the right amount of spice. The wings with passion fruit BBQ, also a hit! We also shared the set up, specifically the Clairin with the hatian rum and passion fruit—so yummy and such a cute presentation.
It was enjoyable to see a Haitian restaurant in New Orleans, considering the shared history of Haiti and Louisiana. The dishes were flavorful and fresh, clearly prepared with love. 🇭🇹
