Fort Madison Public Library

This has been a staple of the city. They have a vast amount of books, media, and periodicals. Along with this, they have areas for all ages, and they have study areas that can be reserved for private studies or research. They have a meeting room that accommodates everything from a voting center to private events. It's a real center of the community.

The books are nice, and they have fun events, but some of the workers are so rude! Most of them are very kind, but a few will get annoyed with you for the littlest things, like standing in their way while looking at a book or asking for help too many times.

They’re super rude, and they won’t even let you finish a sentence without trying to cut you off. I don’t know if they need to retire or what, but they definitely aren’t happy with their jobs.

Everyone was helpful. I was looking for biographies on the Royals. Only one book there on Queen Elizabeth and it was old and I'd read it. Went home and ordered several on Kindle.

Recently moved from a large city so was pleasantly surprised by this library. They offer an extensive collection so most things I am interested in (esp DVD"s) are here. Their recently updated website is a definite improvement over the old one as well. Pleasant staff, modern clean building.
