Fat Olives Restaurant

A beautiful restaurant in Homer Alaska. We are here for a week for work, we stopped here for dinner our 1st night in town. Order pizza and OH MY this is hands down the best pizza I have had in a long time. The staff was very nice and gave us some town tips while we asked lots of questions. Was not so busy but tour season is over until April. If you find yourself in Homer and want a great pizza this is the place for you.

Pizza was good. The atmosphere was snobby & stuck up. While waiting to be seated we were looking at the menu, the hostess took the menus out of our hands & said the table will be ready in a minute 😮🤷‍♀️ The special sign was two sided also looking at that while waiting. She got an attitude & said that was the dinner special & pulled the sign back away from us. Your better off ordering at the to go window & not dealing with the staff inside.

Fat Olives is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in Alaska, and I was excited to finally check it out for myself. From the moment I walked in, the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made for a great first impression. It was quiet, comfortable, and a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The menu had an amazing selection, though they were unfortunately out of steak and all of their fettuccine pasta options, leaving only red sauce-based dishes. While it was a little surprising, there were still plenty of choices to enjoy. We started with the oysters, and I was impressed by both the quantity and the presentation. This place is easy to find with a decently sized parking lot (a rare dough-light in busy Homer), and I loved the dedicated to-go window up front. It keeps things flowing so the dining area doesn’t feel like a waiting room at the DMV. Vibe: The vibe is a mix of rustic, artsy, and pizza-parlor posh. The high ceilings make it feel airy and a bit upscale, which pairs nicely with the casual menu. The art lining the walls is all from a single artist. Have always enjoyed the pizza here! It never disappoints! This last trip I tried the Greek salad and it was huge and amazing! The garlic parmesan dressing is so yummy. The system between the waitress/ hostess is strange, we would ask the waitress for something and she would send the hostess out and we would have to repeat the request again, I know its an incredibly busy place but maybe a better communication system would be more effective. Will always come back!
