Elk Trace Bed & Breakfast

We stayed at Elk Trace Bed and Breakfast and had an amazing time! The location is close to Pagosa Springs and about a 40 minute drive to wolf creek ski area. The hosts were very responsive and kind. It definitely felt like a cozy home away from home. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious for me and my partner. They even had an ongoing fireplace in the living room which was just adorable. They serve fresh and delicious breakfast with the stay, and it was very convenient for us as we were trying to ski pretty much as soon as we could. I also loved that the view from the lodge was absolutely breathtaking with the mountains. Definitely would stay here again!

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) had a wonderful stay here. We stayed in the Buffalo Suite, which was large enough for us to spread out and bring take out to eat for dinner. The owners were kind and friendly. Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed exploring the grounds and interacting with the horses and the chickens. The views were amazing!

Insane. Literal nightmare scenario. I am begging you just book at a normal hotel because I promise this is not the cutesy forest escape you are thinking it will be. I booked on Expedia and the listing was for an adorable “Deluxe Queen Loft”. The listing made it seem like we would be in this small cabin alone, and the shared space would be the main lodge for breakfast, etc. We get to the location, and the owner mentions as we are entering the building the “other couple in here” . HUH???? I was shocked. She proceeds to show us to the “Deluxe Loft” which not only did not have a lock, it also didn’t have A DOOR. at all. No door, separating this “deluxe room” from the rest of this small cabin we were apparently inhabiting with strangers. Upon my confusion, she simply said “well, no one will co

Beautiful property. We stayed at the cabin closest to the road. It was so gross. Her washer had mildew, comforters never have been washed, dirt was everywhere. Fridge dirty, the beds were dirty, caked dirt everywhere. You will sneeze. You will feel sick. It’s a beautiful property. Food is great. But she also is kinda rude. We asked her to fix something and she was really mean about it. Her dogs are very scary. They will come charging at you. And they yell at them to stop. I would not ever suggest this place!

Everyone was incredible! The entire place is adorable and inviting. The breakfast that Andy made us was amazing! Thank you guys for making what would have been a mundane visit to the dentist a lovely mini vacation!
