El Señor Pollo Mexican Grill

This used to be our go to place. But the last few times we have gone the quality and the service has gone down. We just ordered 8 burritos yesterday, every single asada burrito had maybe 4-6 pieces of small chopped up asada. These were the skimpiest burritos, and it seems over the past year they have been skimping more and more. I guess it’s time to find another place, as we would go out of our way to come here. I don’t know if someone else is running this place now, we used to recommend it to everyone, what a shame. Pics are one of the leftover burritos I planned to eat later, now it’s just going in the trash

Disappointing Decline in Quality and Portions – Used to Be Our Favorite! This place used to be our go-to spot for Mexican food. But, unfortunately, the last few visits have shown a noticeable decline in both food quality and portion sizes. Everything we ordered was skimpy, with way too much filler and not nearly enough protein to justify the price. It feels like the portions have been shrinking more and more over the past two years. It's really a shame, because we loved this place and used to rave about it. Not so sure if there's new management or something else going on, but the changes have made us look elsewhere. Hoping they can turn things around, as we'd love to come back if the quality and amount of food served returned to what it once was, especially since they've raised their price

Unfortunately this was the second time in a row I felt ripped off and disappointed. For the price of my asada burrito I expected it be loaded with meat and veggies and beans like other local food trucks/restaurants. Instead it was mostly rice and had little flavor as you can see in the photo. I had asked for a spicy salsa on the side but was only offered a mild very little flavor salsa verde. I asked for a jar of the spicy salsa and it was $9, the price surprised me but I pay $10 for Aye Que Pica salsa at the Boise coop and it’s worth it, but this sadly was not. I’m not overly critical I mean I’ll eat Los Betos or Taco Bell any day happily but was truly bummed I spent $22 here for the burrito and salsa.

Update: spoke directly with the owner and he was able to provide me with a refund. I have really enjoyed the tortillas and beans here in the past, and look forward to eating here again given the good service. Preordered tortillas and beans for a party and was extremely disappointed. We've gotten their tortillas numerous times before. This time, though, when we picked them up they were definitely not their house made tortillas; they tasted like the blandest store bought tortillas. The beans also just tasted like they were canned. I felt like I could have just gone to Walmart and picked up the ingredients and had the same experience, for a fraction of the cost.

A chicken place that does not have chicken at 5:20 on a Saturday night? Interesting concept. Walked in at 5:20, to a place that specializes in chicken and has chicken in their name, to be told that they do not have chicken available. I will freely admit that I am not an expert in running a restaurant, but I would assume that you need to have product ready and available to be able to generate sales. Especially at the start of dinner on a weekend night.
