El Mejor Mexican bar and grill

Used to be our fave Mexican restaurant. Last couple times the food was meh but this time was terrible. Wednesday, Feb. 4th My daughter and I shared the meal. We ordered the 2 enchilada lunch and a half order of queso with ground beef. The enchiladas normally comes with red sauce on it but came out with a chunky sauce with melted orange cheese & HUGE chunks of celery. It looked disgusting! We immediately scraped it off the enchiladas. (Hindsight- should've taken a picture before scraping it off.) The rice was more like dirty rice than mexican rice. The beans, chips and queso were great. I asked the waitress about the sauce. She thought it was onion instead of celery and got the manager to verify. It was definitely celery. She didn't see anything wrong with it bc they ALWAYS use FINELY DICED

Our server was Wendy and it was her second day, she did a great job and our orders were perfect. The manager even made rounds to confirm everything and to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. We love stopping and eating here when we get the chance the food is AWESOME and service is always fast. I had the Steak & Chicken Happy Plate, my sister had just the Chicken Happy Plate, Dad had the Mexican City Combo it looked so great that I will be trying that next time! Lastly Mom had the Smothered Chicken without mushroom sauce. Also the Large Guacamole is so fine! We had that as the appetizer and it was plenty for all 4 of us! Great service, portions and food! Come check this place out.

10.14.24 came in around 1:30P.M. for the first time because we happened to be in the area... Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The ground meat is well-seasoned! I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch of a taco and enchilada. There's great food here, and the interior of this establishment is really nice.

El Mejor is a Mexican restaurant about five minutes outside of Saint Francisville, Louisiana. Driven by it several times wanted to try it and finally did tonight. The food was amazing!!! I had chicken and steak fajitas and my date had steak fajitas. The steak was so tender and full of flavor. The margaritas were really good as well. If you find yourself in this neck of woods, I definitely recommend stopping by.

This is BY FAR the best Mexican restaurant in West Feliciana, although Jalepeno's in Jackson is better. The menu at El Mayor is the usual Tex-Mex plus quite a few traditional Mexican dishes. It's all good and reasonably spicy, and you can get actual Mexican hot sauces if you want more heat. Service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is nice, and sometimes there is live mariachi music.
