East Greenbush Community Library

This would be a good place if their management was inclusive to people with disabilities. But unfortunately they aren't and I suggest going to Rensselaer Library where they aren't snobs

It is almost perfect. The only problem for me is noise. In my opinion, a library must be in perfect silence. But this one is not. Staff talks quite loudly. But they are friendly and the place is really good overall.

This is a great library and anyone who goes here regularly probably also knows that. The facilities are practically brand new. They have some really amazing people on staff. I go here almost every day. I don’t think this library is much of a secret though, it’s definitely a well-known place in East Greenbush. Just wanted to give them a five star review because they do really have an excellent staff and the facilities are outstanding.

Terrible library they are not friendly to people with disabilities. I work with this population and I took my people there today. One of my guys is autistic and he was steaming making small noises, something he can’t control. They talked to me and said if he didn’t stop we would have to leave. It didn’t matter that I explained to them how he can’t control it. I’ll definitely won’t be visiting this library at all. They’re not just racist (which I experienced with a different group a while ago) but now they’re not nice towards people with disabilities

Unfortunately, my visit was not amazing as I had two unpleasant interactions with one woman from the front desk. The tone she had for both interactions felt passive aggressive (there were some instances where I would even say she was being actively aggressive) and nearly pretentious. Seems like this library does a lot for the community, which is amazing. Later on I had talked with a woman who worked in the children’s area and she was very friendly and helpful, which I am grateful for. I’m sure this library is great, but I cannot shake the negative experience with someone who is supposed to be the first person you see.
