East Beach

You definitely need a pass and a 4wd suv to use the other side of the beach.

The less developed of all Rhode Island’s state beaches but no lesser beautiful than any other. This beach is amazing. On the day (08.10.2025) that we were there the wave was nice but a little bit rough on the children, I think mostly due to the shore line having about a 15 to 20 degree slope towards the water. There are plenty of rooms from the dunes to the water making us feel like we have plenty of spaces to roam. This beach is very long in comparison to the rest of RI’s state beaches. Looking out towards the NE end of the beach as far as the eyes can see you get the Charlestown Breachway and Beach. Looking SW down the shore the Blue Shutters Town Beach is very close by and a point beyond that. The protected swimming area is pretty small, about 1/4 of a mile. There are only two life

This was my first time at this location of East Beach. Usually, I park closer to Westerly town Central but this was a great place with wonderful parking. Only $12 for out of state and bathrooms and changing rooms. The beaches were clean calm and the water was beautiful. I love Rhode Island beaches.

I think this is one of the best state beach in Rhode Island 🤩 just across the street is part of Ninigret Pond, you can see beautiful sunset from there and after that go back to the beach to see beautiful moon ❤️ we came around 7pm in the summer and not so many people there

Waited in line (in car) before opening to get to parking area but once in Very clean beach! Water crystal clear! Not crowded for a Saturday morning. Went Looking for shells (not many) but Did find a lot of very cool rocks!
