Duke's Upper Deck Cafe

Ate lunch at this restaurant and it was great during my visit. We went a little later in the day so it was not crowded and we were seated right away. The service was fast and friendly and it did not take long to order and receive our food. We ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were good and I would suggest them. I ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked and prepared perfectly and tasted great as well. The sweet potato fries were good and not overly soggy. I was very pleased with my visit and would suggest this place and go again myself.

Dukes is one of those Pittsburgh hidden gems that everyone should know about. And my all around favorite bar/restaurant. Great, fresh, quality, American fare food with decent portions. And with 48 beers on tap you can't go wrong. Try the soups or the Pinkerton sandwich. You won't be disappointed. The wait staff is always super friendly and ownership treats you like your part of the family. Give Dukes a try.

Excellent tap list if you’re a beer person. Very nice folks working there; however, the food is pretty bad. It’s really expensive bar food. Up charge for fries that are battered frozen out of a bag. My partner asked for medium burger, but came out well done. Nothing really had any flavor. Bartender let me get a shot after last call so that was nice. I’d come back for the drinks and service, but I’m glad I didn’t get food. I would have been mad spending money on it when I could make it better at home for less. Sorry :(

We came on a Saturday early evening. Had a 10 minute wait to get a seat; not to bad for the time of day it was. We ordered an app and it came right away. Then we ordered our entrees and we waited 45 minutes for the food to come out. We both got chicken sandwiches; one grilled and one fried. The fried chicken sandwich was dry but edible. The grilled chicken was average. The best thing we had was the mac and cheese for the side dish. We weren't impressed enough to make a repeat visit. We ordered raspberry tea and you can tell it's powered Lipton. Spent 2 hours here total. Spent $65 for 2 drinks, 2 sandwiches with a side, the pretzels and a tip.

Nice parking, service & reasonable sports bar atmosphere. My primary negative was the small meat portion for my Rubin. We were with a group of 9. Also, I didn't complain, but I did notice extra meat was an additional cost.
