Had a great birthday meal at doc fords. This is a regular stop for us while visiting fort myers and it’s been great food every visit. On this occasion I wasn’t in the mood for fish and the steak was really good and great value. Our sever did go a bit MIA after the food arrived so had to ask a few times to get a drink but in fairness they were busy. Would highly recommend.
We ate here on our last night in fort myers and it was a great spot to eat. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere was awesome with some live music playing. We sat out facing the water which was nice too. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the fish tacos and they tasted great. The only thing I would say I didn’t like was the portion sizes. Meals felt like they were a bit small in my opinion. For example my taco meal only had two tacos and I could have easily eaten one more. The catch of the day meal was also a smaller sized portion of fish and rice. Other than that it’s a great place to eat at.
Nice experience dining solo for lunch at Doc Ford’s after a quick Google search showed great reviews. I had the 1/2 dozen Gulf oysters on the half shell, which were very tasty. My Sanibel Spinach Salad was fresh, tasty, and well prepared. I added grilled shrimp and avocado to it, which complemented it well. I dined in the downstairs outdoor portion of the restaurant. Atmosphere is relaxed with stunning views over the water, and you can have a walk out onto the dock (or boat in directly). Service is friendly and relaxed, my server made sure I had everything I needed. Overall, I had a lovely lunch at Doc Ford’s and I’d recommend it.
Absolutely loved Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille on Fort Myers Beach! Stopped in after a pirate ship cruise, and it was the perfect vibe – lively, tropical, and right on the water with that island feel. The Seared Tuna was a great starter. The Orange Ginger Shrimp was excellent, with big, perfectly cooked shrimp in a spicy sweet glaze. The Shrimp and Grits were pure comfort food. Drinks were spot-on and reasonable for FMB. Service was friendly and fast even though the place was hopping. Already planning our next visit. 5 stars all day!
Four of us dined here for lunch on a Friday and we all enjoyed the service, atmosphere and food selections we chose! Started with a bowl of Doc Ford's Chowder, very good!! Two of us had the Fish Sandwiches and the others had the Orange Ginger Shrimp and Shrimp Tacos - all were very good too!
