Deal's Famous Oyster House

An amazing down home family southern real southern seafood. Swamp cabbage ,fried catfish back bone. Any kind of amazing seafood..I had a great crab cake and the special steamed oysters with cheese and garlic butter I believe. O my gosh so good. My husband had the fried clam strips with hush puppies and coleslaw. We ordered a side of swamp cabbage. The people eating their and the employees all were so great and kind. I mean like stepping back in time to a real small town Christian comunity. They we're sucking oysters non stop the whole time we were there . I believe our waitress name was Faith a real cherry blond young women. Amazing ! A must stop is anywhere close to this area. These are the places and people you want to live around. Thank you for a awesome experience.

Well, this was an experience. I was the youngest patron by at least 30 years. It kind of reminded me of that diner scene from Legion mixed with Tucker and Dale VS Evil. When the employees started stomping around while Cotton Eyed Joe blared I was concerned they might not let me leave. The food food was simple and well done. The service was friendly. The whole experience was more than a little unnerving but since I lived to write this review I would go back. My salad was super simple but the ranch was delicious. The grits were perfect and the red fish was flaky.

I was traveling, and we wanted to stop and have some dinner when we found this place. It looked really crowded from the outside appearance. The parking lot was full. We walked in and the restaurant was mostly filled with large groups of families and friends. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a very happy hostess! We were seated immediately and brought drinks.. The sweet tea tasted like your Grandma made it! The food was even better! We had a great experience and the food was just amazing. What a great find. I highly recommend. I might travel just to go back.

Food was excellent and staff were friendly. The interior is dated but welcoming and clean. We had an 8 count of Lacy's rockin oysters without breadcrumbs and they were delicious! The oysters themselves were perfectly cooked and spinach was fresh not canned or frozen. I also ate the "small appetite" Little deal, all fried with baked beans and grits. All were salted lightly so I could add my prefered amount. All the seafood was excellently cooked nothing even mildly fishy. The crab bites are like mini crab cakes and have a nice sweet red pepper taste and the beans are not overly sweet and full of good flavor. Mum got the combo platter with grilled scallops and fried mullet (not pictured) which were both good. Mullet had the skin on (which i personally enjoyed) and a couple pin bones. But

These were fresh Apalachicola oysters! 💯 Recommend stopping by Deals not only do they have fresh oysters they have the best fried mullet, shrimp and swamp cabbage in town.
