Dauphin Island Harbor House

We Found Harbor House Bed and Breakfast online when we had a last minute idea to stop overnight in Dauphin island, Al. so we could catch the bay ferry over to Ft Morgan the next morning. We were on an adventure trip from Texas to Florida and thought this would be a good addition to our fun trip. We had no idea that our spur of the moment idea would turn into a wonderful experience. Billy greeted us when we arrived, gave us our key while explaining where everything was, what we would eat the next morning at the delicious southern breakfast and told us about everything we need to know about the Bed and Breakfast.|As early risers we walked outside the following morning and saw the beautiful bay, boats, the fishing dock, bbq area, and my personal favorite the wonderful patio with lots of comf

The opposite of southern hospitality. Not a quiet place on the waterfront, no quiet hours enforced, screaming children and partying adults well after midnight, owners on site but unavailable day or night.

We love this place! We went for this year's family vacation, the setup is perfect for multiple families traveling together because each family was able to book their own room (to have their own space), yet still use the communal spaces to hang out! • Rooms were clean, and the staff is super friendly. The place was super relaxed. • The dock is perfect for fishing; we could catch bait, white trout, a crab, catfish, and a bunch more. • All the beaches were only a few minutes away, and the city was doing a movie on the beach, so my kids could watch Despicable Me at sunset on the beach, which they loved. • The food was good, and not worrying about breakfast daily is a total plus. • My husband & Dad also went on a chartered fishing trip with them and had the best time. This is a comfortable fishing bed and breakfast with extraordinary hosts and engaged housekeeping.||Billy and Julie, the hosts, know the island well and gave exceptional recommendations for restaurants and local activities. They are welcoming hosts and made us feel like family. ||The delicious hot breakfast prepared us for our daily adventures and although the Gulf did not cooperate this week for deep sea fishing; if we wanted we could have chartered a boat with them, or just fished off the pier.||Thank you Billy, Julie, and Jenny for a great week!

This was the perfect place to stay after my friends wedding reception at the nearby community center. ||As others have said, it’s kind of a no frills family friendly place run by some very nice folks. It was just what my husband and I needed after a long day of wedding festivities.||The room was super clean and had a king size bed with very soft sheets, plenty of pillows, and a super cold AC unit. We love to sleep cold and it was up for the task. ||The room had cable tv and a coffee maker as well. Everything anyone could need for a short or long stay.||The breakfast the next morning was so appreciated after a long evening of celebration.
