Dat Jerk Glenarden

The food is really good the Mac and cheese was my favorite probably because it was unexpected from a restaurant but it really is homemade (like Thanksgiving homemade)! My only complaint is that the rice was a little hard and the customer service with the checkout personnel was inattentive I’m big on customer service interactions when I’m spending my money somewhere. (Could be I came 20 mins after opening) They were although kind in greeting and departure Other than that the oxtails were very tender (fall off the boat melt in your mouth type) and meaty avoiding much fat that’s usually with this meal from other places , and I believe the portion were okay for the price. I got the chance to visit dat jerk with my father recently. I gave him the option going to silver diner or dat jerk. It took a sec for us to get our bearings but we were overall pleased with the options we ordered. The restaurant was very clean and had large portions of food which I believe matched the cost of food. I loved the roti. The wrap itself complimented the flavors inside. I opted to get the sauce on the side which was not the play since it wasn’t enough. Definitely won’t make that mistake again. They had a friendly staff that helped to guide us through the menu. I definitely look forward to going back.

Hi! We ordered the following catering items: brown stew chicken, salmon, rice and peas, house salad, mac and cheese, and stir-fry veggies for our holiday party. Everyone was raving about the stew chicken, salmon, Mac and cheese and rice and peas! Staff kept asking where the food was from and said everything tasted amazing. Our order arrived on time and the food was at a great temperature. Everything was delivered with care!

The customer service was great! I was greeted promptly when I walked in and upon checking out, the cashier asked me if I wanted any coco bread or patties to which I had to exercise discipline and say “no” 😭. That said, I was a bit disappointed with the rice and peas and cabbage I bought. They both were a bit too overcooked for my liking. I like for my cabbage to still have a bite as well as my rice and peas. The sauce I got to accompany my jerk chicken was interesting, don’t think I would’ve chosen it had I known what it tasted like. FWIW, I originally wanted to get the salmon but then changed my mind. Kinda wish I didn’t! The plantains are 🔥 though! Overall, I don’t have any real complaints just that the 2 sides weren’t prepared how I tend to like them. Hence the 3 stars.

Just left Dat Jerk, only to find out when I got home that the young guy that took my order forgot to put rice and peas in my Roti. I dont know if the guy was new, he acted like he didnt want to be there. He also forgot to put my extra sauce in the bag. I clearly told the guy more order, and paid my hard earned money for my food, but felt cheated when I got home and realized I didnt get what I paid for. Both the guy and girl attitudes that worked there were not welcoming. Customer service with Black Businesses always seems to be subpar and need work. If the owner is reading this, please teach the importance of good customer service to your workers. I will continue to go to Dat Jerk, just not this location. Ill only go to the one in Columbia from here on out. Please do better
