Cuppa Giddy Up

Several years ago my sister and I stopped at Cuppa Giddy Up in Middleburg, Virginia to enjoy a coffee. It's a charming and relaxing place, and we sat at a table outside. Middleburg is one of my favorite historic towns in the "Hunt Country" of Virginia, where an aunt, uncle and cousin used to live. We later drove by their house and then visited a small cemetery to view graves of relatives. Middleburg has many beautiful homes, equestrian farms and fine shops. Over the years, I have eaten at the nearby Red Fox Inn and Tavern. Cuppa Giddy Up is a small business in an historic red brick building in the quiet downtown. It has a variety of freshly-brewed coffees, plus frappuccinos and smoothies, and delicious pastries, bagels and muffins.

This cute little bakery/cafe has is located in the basement level just a few steps down from the Main Street in Middleburg. There’s a small selection of locally baked treats and drinks including coffee, cappuccino, etc. Prices are comparable to other bakeries in northern Virginia.

Delightful experience and a must-do. It's like taking a mini vacation. You step into a historic building complete with beamed ceilings and brick floors, and come out with the most delicious coffee you've ever had. They create unique coffee concoctions, and their whipped cream is so good that you could eat it for dessert (and people do). The pastries are always perfectly fresh. The owners are kindhearted people who are an important part of the community. Can't say enough about this wonderful place. Bring your dog, step in for an indulgent coffee, and sip it while you stroll around the beautiful streets of Middleburg.

They brew a yummy cup of coffee! They have specialty drinks listed on top of the glass counter, and I wasn't disappointed by any of them. I highly recommend visiting, just know there's very little seating. They're also in the basement, so don't try the upstairs ;)

From the main street, its hidden by being below ground level. A small flight of stairs but well worth a visit. The barista is friendly and there are plenty of coffee and pastry options for all patrons passing through.
