Chef Safari's African Fusion

Incredible African fusion cuisine! To describe it in just two words; FRESH & BOLD My wife and I were visiting Durango and stopped by Ska Brewery for some beers and were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon Chef Safaris African Fusion on the same property. We tried the Chicken Kebab plate and the Beef samosas for dinner one night. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. So we decided to go back the next day for lunch and got the Tikka Curry chicken, African humus, and Falafels. AGAIN INCREDIBLE. As I’m writing this review right now my wife and I are sitting in the hotel debating going back there for dinner (even though we just ate lunch there two hours ago), he is just that good! I think I could order anything on the menu and love it

So happy I decided to drop by here for lunch while on a business trip. Great spot sharing space with Ska Brewing, so good music and fresh air abound, and of course, the food was delicious. I had the spiced lamb curry. Curry was flavorful with a good kick, but balanced well with the simple cashew couscous and greens on the side. Meat was tender and had a perfect portion size. The chapati bread was also great. Felt worth the price point to support local, good cookin! This will definitely be on my list of stops when I'm next in town. The niece is attending Ft Lewis, so coming to Durango is becoming a regular thing. Do yourself a favor and dine here. You will not be disappointed. It is by far, some of the best food in town. Chef Safari puts the love and attention into each and every dish. We got the chicken tikka curry, veggie samosas, and the homemade tumeric chai. Flavors were solid and on point, we will be coming back.

I had the honor of meeting Safari tonight and I am so grateful. The food was delicious and good soul is so kind. A blessing to experience a meal like this in SW Colorado🥹 An absolute must if you’re in Durango ❤️ The cookies were also amazing, that meringue one!!!!!!! Very good food, I’m so happy that I found this place on the map before my roadtrip. I ordered the Oxtail Curry, it was my first time eating anything like this and it was great. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.
