Cap's Montauk Harbor

This place serves the best fish and chips in New York — and possibly in the entire U.S.! The portions are generous, and the fish is incredibly fresh. The meat has a natural ocean-sweet flavor with no unpleasant fishy taste. It’s slightly sweet with a delicate, perfectly flaky texture. The batter is outstanding — thin, crispy, and golden, with a crunchy exterior and a soft, juicy interior. The shellfish pasta is also excellent, loaded with shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels. The clam chowder and baked oysters were delicious as well. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff were wonderfully dog-friendly. Definitely a must-visit spot — and they stay open even when many other places close for the season.

Was my first time there. Had sweet potato fries, and a couple of cocktails, delicious, took home an order of fried calamari with peanut noodles, they were awesome, will definitely be back, thank you Kelly & Carlos

My wife and I were away for a quick getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We were staying down the block at the Tipperary Inn. After checking in, we wanted to take a walk to check out the Harbour area. On our way back, we stopped at Caps for cocktails and an appetizer. First off, the service was excellent the cocktails and the wings were great. We enjoyed it so much. We went back the next day and did it again. Especially appreciated the wonderful service from Ginger and Sarah.

Pretty scary experience served spoiled seafood. Caused some diarrhea but could have seriously harmed our family. Very very scary and not okay food handling. You have a RESPONSIBILITY as a restaurant operator to not harm the public and serve bad food.

Had dinner here! Fish and chips and lobster were outstanding. It was extremely busy but our waitress was so friendly and efficient! Definitely going back there, amazing!!
