Capones Bar and Grill

Great sports bar for both locals and very close to interstate 80. Nice eating choice for those travelers and with 4 new hotels a block away. Large classy sports bar room separate from a very big eating room spread out between tables, ranks well above the typical "diner" Small town friendly people. Great service and American "comfort" food plus steaks, other meat choices, or large ceasar salads . Prices comparable to most family oriented restaurants. Good quality facility and atmosphere. Great hang out for night out with friends too. I have attached menu.

Had a pretty good experience. Late on a Sunday, not busy. We were promptly seated, they took our order and the food came out quickly. Had a Grilled Ham ‘n cheese and a Cobb Salad. Both were satisfying. Fries are good. Service was great!

My husband and I had dinner at Capone’s on our way across Nebraska to the West Coast. Capone’s has a very open concept floor plan with a high ceiling and it can get pretty loud. Our server, “Red,” was great! She was super friendly and knew the menu very well. My husband ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich with chips which he said was delicious, but so large he couldn’t eat it all. I had. The fisherman’s plate which had fried shrimp, fish and French fries. They were cooked very well, super crunchy and pretty good. The shrimp were pretty small and very flat, but good. We also had calamari as an appetizer which was very good.

Servers were great. Food was nothing special. It was loud, it was cold. It was too empty there was nothing reminiscent of Capone and his era. Okay, not great. $15 for three small chicken fingers and fries? A pork tenderloin that was tough and chewy.

Right off I80 on the East exit of North Platte rests this cozy establishment. Bathroom was clean. The menu offers a large variety, it was a tough decision from wings or a steak. I went with the 12 oz Ribeye. The cut was a bit thin and lacked seasoning, but it was cooked just how I ordered it medium rare. The meat was tasty and had a good amount of marbling. The green beans were delicious, and the mash taters with brown gravy ranked high on my amazing list. Definitely not disappointed. Ill be back.
