North Platte Public Library

I had a horrible experience at the North Platte Public Library recently, as I had been trying to find a quite peaceful place to work but the front desk staff were very loudly talking. Aren't libraries supposed to be quiet! And what they were talking about was very rude and unprofessional stuff about people in the library. It was a lady with grey hair and a blonde with short hair. Hopefully it's not always like this...

Beautiful older library. Comfortable chairs to sit on, nice views out windows, puzzles, kids area, crafting, and computer area.

Being a dad of two young boys I'm pretty proud that the library has become one of our favorite pastimes. The children's room is full of great books for the boys, they always find a new adventure to check out! The adults can walks away with a something too, the selection is vast in both the fiction and non-fiction areas. Props to the staff as they are extremely friendly and helpful. The building is clean and easy to navigate. We love this place, what a great resource for our community.

Haven't been here in ages. But as a kid this was my favorite place to go and read books. I'd pack my sandwich and drink and spend the whole day here. Was only allowed in the kids section though. Was caught reading a fear street book and was told I wasn't the age to read it though haha. But I love the smell of the books, the staff were always nice. It was a great escape from a bad childhood house. This library is one of my fondest childhood memories. Glad to see it still up and running with improvements it looks like.
