Button Bakery

Button Bakery is a welcome addition to the bakery scene in Evanston. The cinnamon roll with raisins is delicious. So are all of the muffins and scones especially the ones with cranberries or pecans. For something savory, don’t miss out on the Bavarian pretzels and focaccia. Prices are very affordable and the staff is lovely. Highly recommended.

I recently discovered button bakery & it is really special. I absolutely love their challah bread & polish rye. And their peanut butter cookies are the best I’ve ever tried. I always love when a bakery offers coffee and their coffee is delicious. And it’s nice that they offer sandwiches and pizzas as well. They are located on Main Street in Evanston and they’ve added such charm to the street with their wonderful bakery. I wish they had an attached café, where we could sit down at tables and enjoy our coffee & treats. Maybe they will do this in the future hopefully!!!

Button Bakery never misses. Every bread we’ve tried has been delicious, and the pretzels are honestly some of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The staff is always so kind and helpful, which makes the experience even better. Our family was mostly gluten free for years due to digestive issues (not celiac), but we decided to try high-quality sourdough and had no problems at all. We started with their San Francisco sourdough and have since tried several other breads from Button with the same great results. Looking back, I think our issues were more about the quality of the bread than gluten itself. It’s also so nice having a neighborhood bakery with reasonable prices. The sourdough is perfection! I am not a fan of bread pudding but their almond caramel bread pudding is a weekly treat for me now. I have never had a bad experience with staff like someone mentioned earlier-they’ve always been pleasant. I have not tried the other bread but my husband has and said the cranberry loaf and focaccia was 10/10. Give it a try!

Button Bakery is so delicious and such a fantastic addition to the Main St neighborhood! Their desserts are delicious, their breads are fantastic, and I could eat their caprese sandwich every day for the rest of my life and be happy! Also their pretzels are truly beyond incredible. I only wish they had cinnamon rolls without raisins but that is a small gripe in a sea of excellence. Highly recommend this bakery.
