We had an amazing time visiting the Finger Lakes, mostly due to our fabulous stay at the Burdett House. Ashley and David were so warm and welcoming. They have a way of making us feel like both a very special guest and a member of the family at the same time. There is so much to do in the Finger Lakes that it can be overwhelming. Ashley gave us a lot of wonderful suggestions of what to see and do during our visit and every one of them was fantastic. The house is so charming and exactly what one pictures when they think of a quaint bed & breakfast in this region. It’s got so much character and when you’re inside the house, you feel as if it is giving you a warm hug. In fact, they should rename it the Burdett HOME. The breakfasts that Ashley and David cook are incredible. Each morning they
Burdett House Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful house with exceptional accommodations. Ashley and David were such welcoming hosts. The decor for exterior and interior is very attractive. There is a mix of Victorian antiques with more modern amenities to make a very cozy and comfortable stay. Our guest bedroom was well appointed with a comfortable bed and mattress, an amazing bathroom (with a shower you don't want to leave and with high quality toiletries), and an outdoor porch. There is a guest sitting room and a snack bar with coffee, tea, snacks on the second floor near the bedrooms. The breakfasts are delicious and incorporate some of the recipes from Ashley and David's family members. We would definitely stay again if ever in the area in the future.
My husband and I spent two delightful nights at Burdett House on our way home from a vacation in Canada. We had planned the short detour to break up our trip and explore some finger lakes wineries. The town of Burdett is a perfect location, only 10 minutes from the larger town of Watkins Glen and a short drive to many of the region’s best wineries. The inn is homey, comfortable, charming and quaint. Ashley and Dave have done a great job of honoring the historical nature of the structure while incorporating all of the modern conveniences one would want. There’s an interesting artifact in every corner! Breakfasts were delicious and prepared to order. The highlight of the communal meal was chatting with our hosts, who generously shared their tips for touring the area and made every guest fe
Ashley and Dave are the perfect hosts. She welcomed us when we first arrived, showed us the house and our room, explained that they live on the top floor, then left us alone. I could tell that she would have answered any questions we had about the area, but we already had plans and she respected that. We did not meet Dave until the next morning, when he served us breakfast. He was warm and friendly but also left us alone to enjoy breakfast at our cozy little table for two. The house itself is charming, and our room was very comfortable (especially the bed and large shower--we were in the Empire room.) We did not spend much time at the B&B as we had things to do in nearby Ithaca and Corning, but we appreciated the good night's sleep! In the morning, we were treated to wonderful breakfasts.
Upon arrival, the exterior is a beautifully restored historic home showing a great attention to detail and decor. The interior was gorgeous and the original woodwork is well preserved from the 1800’s. The room was so quaint. We had the Roosevelt room and the bathroom was designed to look old fashioned but was refinished to look historic. Also the paint colors and furniture were well chosen to represent the era. Ashley is an amazingly friendly host. She prepared us a fire in the fire pit for when we returned from dinner on both nights we were there. She was attentive and available for anything we needed. We felt safe and very much at home. Also, the town of Burdett is small, but wonderful. There’s a great breakfast spot within walking distance and a new coffee shop that has a waterfall behi
