Absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe, such cool old signs and such!! We tried getting a reservation but couldn’t so we just walked in and were able to get a table for four. Had a great waitress but can’t remember here name, but was a paralegal from Boston. Everyone’s food was fantastic and such great portions! Can’t wait to go back….we’ve been here a couple of days and this is by far the best restaurant we went to.
Great restaurant and glad we decided to stop by as walk-in despite no availability online. We ordered mussels, clams and some dinner to share. And everything was absolutely delicious, especially the sole. The portions were huge and we didn't have room for dessert, although the huge browny/ice cream dessert at the table next to us caused quite a stir amongst everyone around it. Friendly service from hostess to waitress; even chatted with the manager and shared our delight with the place. If ever in Newport, do check it out.
We stumbled upon The Brick Alley Pub thanks to a great recommendation from our trolley driver, Rob—and what a find! This place is bursting with eclectic charm, packed with fun antique memorabilia on every wall. It’s like walking into a cozy museum-meets-pub—there’s something to admire in every corner. The bar area is separated so perfect if you have small Kids too! Despite being pressed for time (we had a return water taxi scheduled for our cruise), our server was incredibly accommodating. We let her know we had only an hour, and she made sure everything was smooth and efficient without making us feel rushed. We started with their famous beef nachos, which were absolutely delicious—layers of crispy chips, melted cheese, and perfectly seasoned beef. My friends opted for the all-you-can-ea
We went as a group of 8. Everything came out amazing! Especially liked the Portuguese little necks, cowboy nachos and brie and apple bruchsetta. If you love Martinis this is the place to be. The bartender mixed up the best chocolate martini ever with no cream!! The atmosphere was fun, lively and decorated for Christmas! If you are in Newport it is a must!
We had lunch and were pleased with the gluten free options. They have a separate gluten free menu and the server was very knowledgeable about allergies and cross contamination. My partner with celiacs ordered the clam chowder and the lobster Reuben on gf bread. I had the nachos (which are apparently the item to get here). My only complaint was that because the chips are fried onsite in a non-separate fryer they aren't suitable for celiacs. A simple solution could be to keep a few bags of separate gluten free chips on hand for people with allergies, but I appreciated that the server was knowledgeable enough to warn us about potential cross contamination.
