Bougainvillea House

Having been to New Orleans once or more per year for around 30 years I have had the opportunity to stay in many different types of accomodations, including some of the most expensive. I must say, the Bougainvillea House is a standout among them all. ||The apartment was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and well stocked with essential items. It is close enough to walk to most every place one would want to visit yet is set up so that street noise is hardly ever heard. A quiet, restful sleep not usually found in the Quarter! The host and hostess are wonderful, attentive and full of information. Just ask and they are there! It's my second time here and it's nothing short of wonderful. Our hosts Greg & Pat were gracious, informative, humorous and colorful in a New Orleons sort of way. The room is oppulent and the compound is quiet, even though it was Mardi Gras. There is lots of parkng and the grounds are beautful. The bed was comfortable and supplied is 2 TVs, one computer with wifi. Complimentary wine, champagne, cheese, crackers and fruit was supplied. Pretty much all the comforts of home within easy walking distance from anywhere in the French Quarter and also Frenchman street. Greg and Pat treated us to a great breakfast and great stories about their lives as well as New Orleans culture. They are good humored interseting people. A unique French Quarter experience! We found staying at the Bougainvillea House a refreshing change from our previous hotel stays in New Orleans. The location is tucked in a quiet part of the Quarter, but within walking distance of great music, food and all the things that make New Orleans Fun. The owners were incredibly welcoming and gracious. And having lived in the Quarter for years, they were able to provide wonderful recommendations for restaurants and must do’s. Loved the furnishings and the small kitchenette in our Riverboat Suite—it really is like having your own French Quarter get away. Make sure you ask for a tour of the main house—you’ll love hearing the history and seeing Pat’s display of Mardi Gras regalia!

This is a fabulous location in the French Quarter, not far from Frenchman Street and in a quiet residential area. The house and accompanying rental suites are beautiful and historic, and the Kahn's are very nice hosts for your stay there. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is planning a visit to New Orleans. I can't wait for the next time I get to visit this great city and stay at Bougainvillea House again!

This is a nearly 200-year-old home separated into three apartments. The owners live in one apartment and rent the other two.||||My husband and I rented one apartment, and friends (another couple) rented the other for a week in October.||||They are in a quiet location. There was road construction on the street, but it didn't start too early.||||We stayed in the Paddlewheeler apartment which is downstairs in the main house (the owners live upstairs in the main house). It's large and comfortable and has a "cottage" decor. It has a king-sized bed which makes the bedroom a bit tight.||||Our friends rented the Riverboat apartment.
