Bluebird Taqueria

This place was great. The food was fresh and plentiful. We stopped for a late lunch and didn’t realize that this spot is more of a take out place, but they have little counter against the window with around 8 stools and it’s actually a really nice atmosphere. Definitely has a quick takeout/hole in the wall vibe, but it’s bright by the counter, the place has a nice aesthetic. You order at the till and the food is made to order in the back and they bring your food out to you. We got the nachos, the fish taco bowl (which was a special) and the shrimp fajitas. All the food was bright, fresh and delicious. The fish was cooked very nicely and had great seasoning. Overall, the food was great. We had so much food we took leftovers home. Wow!! Now and then, in Greenwich, unexpected but wonderful restaurant surprises come along. Bluebird Taqueria is one of these surprises. It is modest and almost humble, set in a corner of the Glenville shopping center, with a countertop for “to go” orders, eight simple stools along a window, and an open kitchen. The concept seems to be authentic Mexican street food, prepared with extra flair, so that simple tacos and spicy guacamole and street corn are more delicious than in any other Mexican restaurant within 100 miles.

Amazing spot. Everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Chips and guac are a must, best I have ever eaten! The quesadilla is huge and delicious as well. I would recommend to takeout since there are not many chairs to sit. I would go again.

Why I didn’t know about this place before??? The food was absolutely amazing, I’m so glad there’s a spot for good food in the area that’s not pizza, the menu is very varied, very fair prices and great service!

I was just here a few days ago, happened upon it on accident on a road trip. What a wonderful surprise. The staff was SO nice!!! I ordered the carnitas and tinga chicken tacos, both were good but the tinga chicken was amazing - had a unique flavor that I already miss. And the tres leches cake was outstanding. Can't wait to come back here again when on another road trip
