Blue Shutters Beachside Inn

Felt like home. The Blue Shutter Inn was warm and inviting. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Walking distance to a great restaurant, recommended by Ed . The staff was friendly and helpful. Ed, the care taker, went above and beyond to make our stay one of the best experiences we have ever had. We will definitely be back!

The location is great and so are the views from the room. The owners are also really nice. However, the rooms are old and worn down and walls are paper thin - we could clearly hear the guests in the neighboring room talking, snoring, and more (woke up during the night because of noises coming from the room next door). The bed itself was also not great - squeaky, sheets were some kind of cheap polyester and pillows and mattress were not comfortable. If you are a light sleeper, we highly suggest bringing earplugs. Breakfast is ok, nothing fancy but there was some variety. Anyway, waking up watching the sunrise over Good Harbor Beach from bed was pretty nice.

Such a fantastic location right by the most beautiful beach. The proprietor,Tony, was so welcoming and even found his grandchildren’s toys so that my grandson, age 3, could play with them. In the car ride home he said “I miss Tony and want to go back”. Our feelings exactly. I can’t think of a more perfect place to stay when visiting Gloucester

The Blue Shutters Beachside Inn has an incredible location at Good Harbor Beach and is only a short walk to the beach. When we entered the Inn, we thought the spectacular view of the ocean from the Main Room could not be surpassed. However, upon awakening each morning, the view from our room matched if not exceeded it. ||The Inn has a fantastic old time charm with really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay is the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. The innkeepers Ed, Tony & Patty) make you feel like you are staying with friends. Their catch phrase of "Welcome Home" is sincere and heartfelt. 

Thanks for making our visit to Gloucester that much better. We can't wait to go back!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Blue Shutters Beachside Inn several years ago and we are on our way back right now. Everything about the owners, location and service was great!!
