Blue Dory Inn

We came here for my girlfriends birthday and she absolutely loved everything about the place,so did I, and our dog possibly loved it the most. The gentleman running the house was friendly helpful and everything we needed. The food for the wine hour was sneaky good the cook made this really good dip and there was fresh salsa, cheese, fruit and crackers. The breakfast was also good. The location was perfect with the beach right behind the house and a short walk to downtown. Really a great place we highly recommend coming here i know we will be back.

The staff clearly care about their guests. We were contacted by Garrison before our stay to discuss our arrival and receive instructions to the Blue Dory. Our cottage was ready slightly early for us, which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel. The breakfasts |and nibbles with wine hour were delicious, homemade, and prompt. The hot eggs, roasted potatoes, cut fruit (which had obviously been washed and cut with care), paired with the baked goods allowed us to start our active days satisfied and well-nourished.|We stayed in Tea House for 4 nights in November. As a tall couple (6'4" and 5'9"), the only suggestion we'd have for the Blue Dory is to upgrade the showerhead from standard to those that allow taller guests to fit without stooping. Honestly the most amazing atmosphere, service, quality and experience. First and foremost Block Island is absolutely the most majestic place I've been and I've traveled all over. The Blue Dory is the epitome of charm, character, quaint, and cozy. It feels like you've arrived home and your family is waiting for you, even Sammy the cat. Garrison and his team are the absolute best at service and they truly care about YOU and YOUR experience, catering to your every need no matter how small. The culinary creations at the cocktail hour are amazing, the hummus and Garrison's "Blue Cottage Cookie" creations are OUT.OF.THIS.WORLD!!!! We had a lovely time at The Cottage at Blue Dory. It was the perfect holiday weekend getaway. The Cottage was perfect for my three kids, two dogs and I. Both Garrison and Ann were so accommodating and genuinely kind. We truly enjoyed our time!

This is one of the best experiences we had. From the staffs warm welcome to cozy warm bed that we sleep on. We can not tell you how much we appreciate to the staffs from Avonlea, professional and friendly. Provided the best experience that we can imagine. We would highly to recommend others , |Because we visited during the offseason, we got upgraded to a bigger room , better view to the ocean.
