My son and I stayed in the Matthewson room on a recent trip to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Suzanne and John welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family the entire weekend. They invited us to explore all the rooms in the house (we were the only visitors at the time), recommended activities and dining around town, and even dropped us off at the Hall of Fame.||The room was spotless and our beds were comfortable. Every wall in the home was beautifully decorated with baseball art, photographs, and memorabilia.||Suzanne fixed a delicious breakfast both mornings, with fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, and coffee & juice. We sat and talked about baseball, family, New York, and the village of Cooperstown before embarking on our Hall of Fame tour. ||In the evenings, the Rudys invited us to join
Wonderful experience! Suzanne and John were very welcoming. They have great stories to tell if you are interested. Breakfast was outstanding. B&B is centrally located with short walk to Main Street. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a baseball theme so if you are a baseball lover you will be enthralled. But if you are not you won't be overwhelmed. The home is very clean, beds comfortable, etc. I would highly recommend for your stay!
We had a wonderful time at the B&B home of Suzanne & John, just a block & a half from 100-year-old Doubleday Field and a couple of blocks from the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum. My son & stayed in our own suite named after Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson, a great pitcher for the New York Giants baseball team a century ago. While we spent most of the days & nights on the streets & establishments in Cooperstown, we had a great time at breakfast with the owners talking everything baseball, current events & the local community. We were treated fantastic...and we even played catch (or as they say in Field of Dreams, 'have a catch) in the backyard. The location was fantastic and we slept like champs.
Our stay at the Baseball Bed and Breakfast was very nice and so convenient to all the attractions in Cooperstown. Besides excellent breakfasts, John & Suzanne gav eus great advice on restaurants and sites to see in the area. The Christy Matthewson room was comfortable for the two of us. We enjoyed all the baseball memorabilia throughout the house.
Suzanne and John are the nicest hosts (even if they are Yankee fans). We are Cardinal fans. They are both very welcoming, full of knowledge about baseball and the Hall of Fame, and the area. It was a delight to stay in this warm and welcoming place. It is like a mini hall of fame in itself with all of the memorabilia, including some from our beloved Stan Musial and Cardinals. You can’t go wrong with this bed and breakfast.
