Customer Reviews
I had high expectations for this new restaurant in Stamford but was very disappointed. I ordered the octopus, Batata Harra fries, Barvera Burger, grilled branzino, and a salmon dish (not sure of the name). Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. The octopus had an odd, overly tender texture. it didn’t feel like traditional octopus and seemed more like compressed seafood pieces. The batata harra fries came with a sauce that tasted similar to Raising Cane’s, and that same sauce was also used on the burger, which felt repetitive, which also came with fries. We asked for the burger medium rare, but it arrived well done. Both the branzino and salmon lacked flavor and were quite plain. Overall, I was hoping for better quality
Lovely first dining experience at Bar Vera; a fusion of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dishes. The babaganouj reminds me of growing up in Worcester, with amazing Lebanese home-cooking and restaurants there. Tuna crisp was excellent and the salmon and tawouk kebab all cooked perfectly- will totally go back!
Five Stars All Around for BarVera! Bar Vera is an absolute gem that effortlessly combines mouthwatering Mediterranean flavors with warm, attentive service and a chic, inviting atmosphere. I started with the hummus and pita, which was fresh, creamy, and perfectly balanced — the kind of starter that instantly sets the tone for a memorable meal. I ate it too fast and even forgot to take a picture! Next, the Hot Honey Four Cheeses brick oven pizza was a revelation. The crust was beautifully blistered yet airy, the mix of cheeses decadent without being overpowering, and the drizzle of hot honey plus the toasted almonds added the most delicious twist. The highlight for me was the Pistachio Pesto Orecchiette — fresh pasta coated in a vibrant pesto with hints of basil and dill, topped with cru
The Mezze Trio with fresh out of the oven pita was the best way to start the meal. Octopus stole the show, cooked to perfection. The Spicy Rigatoni needed a little more than a sliver of Burrata on top. The drawback is the atmosphere - the tables are stacked one on top of the other, maybe 2 feet apart and packed tight. Practically dining with other customers.
Had a fantastic meal at Barvera! You would never know they opened two weeks ago based on how well the staff operates. The food and service was fantastic! Our favorite was the pit n dip!
