Arnaud's New Orleans

I won't be detailed because this place can be described in one word: AMAZING!! Best steak I ever had, oysters and escargot fantastic and the whole Cafe brûlé is a great! It was my first time in NOLA and one of my biggest interest is to have unique culinary experiences wherever I go, Arnaud's didn't disappoint.

Ate in the Jazz Bistro which has the bonus of a jazz trio (adds $6 per person to bill but we found worth it). Service attentive, but not cloying. Had appetizers, mains, two sides, 2 cocktails each (when in NOLA..) and split a dessert. All recommendations good, and would have any of them again (except souffled potatoes - fun once but a lot of air).

What a great weekend. Able to try Galatoire's and Arnaud's in the same weekend! Did the jazz brunch here. In the argument between which is better of the two, it of course depends! Based on the less-clubby clientele at Arnaud's, the atmosphere, and the food, I'm in the Arnoud's camp. I loved everything. The service, food, and atmosphere - especially the bar area. It has all the classic dishes but what really stood out was the Strawberries Arnaud. It was one of the top desserts I have had this year. The waiters were a bit less formal, though formal enough. And it's not as loud as Galaroire's. Both are great - but this will be a return for me.

Came for jazz brunch with high expectations due to the fine dining price tag and overall reviews. Left extremely disappointed. Inattentive service, took almost 30 minutes to be provided glasses of water and meet our server. Food was a mixed bag. Some were ok, nothing stood out, while others were very substandard, almost airplane food like. (Veal was rubbery, shrimp arnaud had an unpleasant amount of wasabi in the sauce) Not a lot of jazz happening, maybe more jazz happened earlier in the morning before noon. Atmosphere and interiors have a historic charm though. Overall, one of the most underwhelming service and food experience in the area.
