My brother and I had been working with another CPA for the majority of our careers and felt we needed to make a change. A few years ago, we began working with Julie and Matt Pontiff and we are kicking ourselves for not finding them sooner. They have been absolutely perfect and incredibly helpful with adjusting our strategies. They consistently demonstrate what anyone would expect from the CPA; they always communicate quickly and have provided sound advice that has made the process seamless each year. I strongly advise anyone looking for a tax professional to enlist Julie and Matt Pontiff as their tax professionals.

Definitely avoid Aprio. Like others have mentioned they used to be good before 2020 but now their lack of communication and incompetence just cost me $30k in penalties and interest on top of the $10k I paid them to get my taxes done on time.

This company was good prior to about 2020. The last two or more. years they are very good at maximizing their fees, and thats about it. I had to argue with them about seemingly obvious principals to which they eventually agreed, evidently billing me 20+ hours in the process. Final invoices are over 4x beyond their estimated costs in engagement letters.

Super disappointed in Aprio, LLP. An accountant i worked with for years decided to join this group which is a large firm. He took us over with him and we have been there for a few years. But now, I guess the firm has no use for small businesses. I have been working with an Aprio accountant for our 2020 taxes and then I get an email today that stated - oh by the way, we aren't going to be able to help you with your taxes after-all. We will have made arrangements for another firm to take over account. Ummmm, what about the time that I have already put into this process. That apparently makes no difference. Just wanted to spread the word about this disappointing business practice. If you are a small business, I advise you to stay away.

My wife and I have been using Aprio for over 5 years for our family tax matters. Tommy Lee and his team have done a tremendous job for us. Highly recommend Aprio if you are looking for tax advisory services.
