Antioch Hotel & Suites

1st time here. Don't think we will be back. The young lady who checked us I was pleasant enough, but that is where it ended. Housekeeping has a lot to be desired. I cleaned up with lysol wipes and got a lot of dirt, especially the bathroom. Enaml on the tub is chipped. Bathroom door sticks, water in the tub drains so slow. I was ankle deep in water after a quick shower. Pool area is pretty, but the pool water is so cold, you can't swim in it for more than 15 minutes. Carpets are very warn. Walls are paper thin. Can hear the conversation in the room behind us.

It’s a great location obviously so if you’re not around here, you’re staying somewhere you can afford it. I would stay here. The pool is always clean. People are always nice. The rooms are always great. It’s right in downtown area. We live in Fox Lake so when we’re looking for a hotel and there’s a good price sometimes we’ll stay here or if we wanna have a couple kids swim for the day on a snowy day. I’ve got tiny little ones. The pool is OK for my Kid under 6/2 of the pool is deep. The other is not it’s got a hot tub for adult to relax and yeah it’s a good hotel. It is quite expensive though but with the distance, what can you do?

Unfortunately due to the squeaking bed above us on the third floor we were unable to sleep the entire night. It was so loud. The person above us did not go to sleep the entire night. All we heard was springs in the mattress that sounded like they were scraping across our ceiling. Non stop walking back and fourth to the bathroom and the sounds of the toilet above us flushing a dozen times in the night. My boyfriend was so upset with not being able to sleep that it basically ruined our entire stay. Also would like to note that the hot tub states adults only. About 10 minutes into our hot tub experience...six teenage girls jumped in the tub. They were loud and it was uncomfortable. We ended up just getting out and going back to our room. Just stay here. On your way to Chicago and need a rest from driving, and want to avoid Interstate hotels, make your reservation. You will have peace of mind. If you are looking for a clean room, fairly good breakfast and attentive management this is the place. Vicki is the boss manager..she has it under control. Alexis is the jack of all trades and runs every element with elegance and street wisdom. Barbara runs up the weekend mornings and is attentive enough to make you feel comfortable. Be careful. You will call the phone # of the hotel but the call is sent to another vendor without your knowledge. When there is an issue, they say they can't help you. You ask them to provide documentation and Vickie sends it but you can't open the file. You request the document again and she ignores you. Vickie wasn't helpful at all. Beware!!
