A great place for a romantic weekend with the wife

The house is incredible, such amazing history. We stayed for two nights a few weeks ago, it was perfect. A short drive into Mystic or Stonington, and cabs available if you'd prefer not to drive. We highly recommend visiting Stonington since you are so close...it's a cute town with a few great restaurants worthy of a walk, don't miss the the beach at the end of town with parking right on the water with a beautiful view. Sandra and Jim were lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend if you aren't staying in the village.

We have visited here twice now. Wow! The welcome is outstanding and Sandra and Jim are terrific hosts. The rooms are in a period inn with wonderful, original features. We love the room with the dressing area and slipper bath en suite. Breakfast is all freshly cooked and Sandra's special treats are to die for. Very close to mystic, although we loved Stonington itself as a place to spend time.

We spent two nights there for our anniversary. Sandra and Jim and their bevy of animals were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed reading some of the books in their library as well, beautiful old decorative arts books as well as novels. The setting was stunning in mid-November, but as in any 300 year old house it was on the cold side. Bring warm PJs!

The old house is very charming, as you might expect with a New England inn. The breakfast was great. Sandra the Innkeeper was very accommodating. She even set us aside plates which allowed us to have breakfast at a later time. The animals were also great, along with the old books in the library. The only drawback was that there was a lot of noise below the Denison room where we stayed. It wasn't constant though, so it wasn't a "deal breaker" considering that the innkeepers do live below the room. The inn is also very close to everything...Stonington shops, restaurants, Mystic, etc.
