The Inn At Stonington

Wow what a beautiful, cozy and comfortable Inn in the historic town of Stonington!! We loved everything about our stay. It was my sister in law’s 80th birthday and we wanted to take her someplace special for the weekend. The Inn at Stonington didn’t disappoint! We had 3 gorgeous, spaceous rooms on the water side with lovely easy to use gas fireplaces. Rooms all had very comfortable furniture and lamps! We often go to hotels/inns with inadequate lighting but this is not the case here. Rooms were very clean with great linens and pillows and lots of cozy furniture. Arrived around 2pm and our room was ready and check in was quick & easy. The staff was very accommodating helping us with our luggage (husband had recent back surgery and would have been difficult to carry our belongings up to the 2nd floor...no elevator) Also, the staff was very helpful and informative with info about the surrounding area as well as offering dinner suggestions. Stayed in room #7 on the 2nd floor! Room was clean, quaint and cozy with a king sized bed, fireplace, balcony overlooking the harbor and a nice sized jacuzzi tub. We had asked prior to arrival if the room had a mini fridge, and was told no, but was pleasantly surprised that one had been put in the room for our 4 day stay. My mom and I had the privilege of staying at The Inn at Stonington two weeks ago. Unfortunately we could only stay one night because we loved everything about this place. Our room was in the annex (#16)- we didn't know what to expect not being connected to the main Inn, but our room was such a treat- so roomy with a beautiful view of the harbor. We checked in later than we intended to and when Beth found out that we didn't have dinner, she made a beautiful cheese plate and brought it to our room with soft drinks. Breakfast the next morning was very nice and we enjoyed talking to the other guests. The Inn is so lovely, clean and well appointed. We can't wait to return and stay longer!

We have visited this charming Inn since 2010 and I'm happy to say that it has only gotten better! The rooms have all been decorated with a "designer's eye" so everything works, from the appropriate paintings on the walls to color coordinated bedspreads/walls/rugs. Nothing seems out of place. Double pained windows certainly help with keeping out any noise, but to be fair, Stonington is a quiet, out of the tourist trade town. The entire Inn is managed by Bill who keeps it all moving quietly and efficiently and he has assembled a 5-star team at the front desk. Whether it's Susan, Stephanie, Kate or Beth, or someone else, they will all answer any of your dining/travel questions. And they'll do it with a smile. We went here to celebrate an anniversary and it was such an amazing experience. Very charming house. Service was beyond amazing. It’s an incredible getaway location. We enjoyed our time and hope to return! I would give this place 10 stars if I could.
