Went for an early dinner after the mountain. They can get busy so if you make a reservation its a good idea. They were actually serving a large party of over 40 people when we got there but they handles that plus their regular dinner crowd no problem. Servers were excellent and friendly. The food and drinks were great and I think actually well priced.
My husband had given up on seafood in VT, every time he’d order seafood he was disappointed but not here! His go to is fish and chips which you think isn’t difficult to find a good meal at any place but that’s not true, he was so pleased with the quality I wish I’d taken pic of him holding up a bite and inspecting the color of the fish lol. We were told we had to try the clam chowder which I did and yup, it was really tasty too. My fried scallops weren’t battered which was surprising and my preference, they were clean, no sand bites. He tried the crab rangoons, they were okay but he wished he’d gotten the chowder after tasting mine. Good prices for lunch and their house margarita was refreshing too. We definitely arrived before the dinner crowd but when we left more people were dining outs
First time eating here, and it's 2nd time in town. Anchor Seafood Restaurant was pretty nice Oak tables, clean appearance, real silverware, and cloth napkins. I had the Fish n Chips. I got 3 pieces of Haddock, fries, and Cole Slaw. The fries were good, I thought the Cole shaw was very good.. the tarter sauce was served in an aluminum serving bowl. Not the squeeze packets. I would come back in the future if in the area again. This is a nice town, and the people were friendly.
Little New England-feel shop with a house converted to a restaurant feel. They could accommodate a table reservation for 14, as long as you called in early enough - that was rare as most of the restaurants were first-come, first-served joints. Best dishes - the Maine steamers and the clam chowder (get the bowl!). Shrimp scampi was a little bland, seafood sampler was too oily for me, French onion was salty but not savory as expected, and the lobster was solid fun watching the kids take it apart ($39 each for the market price that day). Garlic rolls with the mains were excellent. Had to stop myself from eating the whole basket... the main also came with veggies to the side and the mashed sweet potato was excellent. Service was good, even as it was busy. And the staff was friendly and accom
Went for lunch send was quite happy. Soup of the day was a carrot apple, very strange but very amazingly delicious. Other then that our lunch was excellent but nothing fancy, just solid will prepared food.
