I was a guest at the Ritz-Carlton on a business trip. I enjoyed dinner two nights at Amore Del Lago - it was so good the first night, I went back again the next. I enjoyed the tortelli and the risotto…both were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was delightful and the service was impeccable. The highlight: Will is an exemplary bartender. Appreciate his fun personality, and his lemondrop martinis are among the best I’ve ever had.
This restaurant is located in the Ritz-Carlton at Lake Oconee. My colleague and I decided to have dinner inside due to the weather, and we were so glad we chose this place. We started our meal with a few appetizers—meatballs—and initially opted for the focaccia bread. Then we changed our minds and decided to try the pizza since everyone raved about how good it was. Best decision ever. Swapping the focaccia for the pizza was absolutely worth it. The pizza crust was perfectly crisp yet light, and we ordered a meat-lovers-style pizza that was absolutely delicious. We ate two slices each and had to send the rest back because we left it on the table—otherwise, we would’ve eaten the whole thing. At that point we were full, and we could’ve asked for the check, but where’s the fun in that? Inste
Loved our visit for breakfast and dinner. Definitely the best food in the area. At dinner, the focaccia starter is a must - it was a marvel. I got the mushroom risotto which was rich but not too heavy. Our waiter Travis was a superstar. We shared many laughs. Huge fan. Finished the night with the most beautifully decorated plate for my daughter’s birthday.
We had dinner on the patio with a view of the lake as well as the families doing s’mores. The staff was excellent and met every need. The food was I thought the pasta dish that my friend ordered was better than the chicken dish that I ordered. But both were nice. The wine was good as well.
We went in September when the restaurant was new so things may have changed. 1. Drinks- I ordered a strawberry margarita and was served a beer. I told the server that I did not order that drink and he insisted it was a strawberry margarita. I tasted it and then had to call him over to insist it again was a beer. This seems pretty hard to mess up. 2. Food- the pastas were extremely salty and none of the food was that good. 3. Outdoor seating- when you make a reservation it does not say that the seating will be outdoors most tables are outdoor. September is so hot in Georgia that being on the patio is miserable. I asked to be moved indoors but they did not have any tables. I recommend going to Gabbys or Linger Longer.
